Taking it WAY Too Far

I admit it I am a Tebow Fan... this kid does what others can't he wins.. in rather unusual circumstances. It's not that he is that great of a football player it's that he LEADs.. team members have said of him that when he leads they pull something more out of themselves. He pushes those around him to do better.. 

I think the way the Jets treated him was abysmal from the signing right down to the way they released him the day AFTER the draft, making sure that all rosters were full and no one would want to take that second look at him. 

He is a class act whom I would love to have my children (all his peers) emulate.. That being said... I saw this headline today.


Tebow fans plea to President Obama in an effort to sign him with the Jaguars 

Seriously? This is what you think the president of the United States should spend his time on? Tebow has already made more money than some people make in a lifetime. If you are really that worried about helping someone get a job... shoot contact the president for me. But MY president has other issues to see to than seeing that one man gets a job playing a game!

The Make a Law Generation

Recently the subject of gun control has gotten louder and louder.. a demand for gun control and an equally loud voice for our 2nd amendment rights. While I can see the point of both sides I have to wonder if everyone is missing the greater point.

We have become what I like to term, The Make a Law Generation. We don't like something, we try and make a law. A quick fix to a difficult situation except it really doesn't fix anything. Not the underlying problem.. It's just like the need for prescription pills, if there is a problem (being overweight, ADD, depressed) take a pill.. Don't try and fix the underlying issues first.. nope take a pill and feel better now. I am not against prescription medication of the need for laws.. what I am against is the need for the quick fix.

What we need to do in order to "fix" the issue is find out what is causing it. Could it be that the days of barely there parenting is finally coming back to bite us in the butt? The concept of quality time finally hitting us where it hurts? We, as parents need to take the time to teach our children what is right and wrong. From the beginning... be there for them.. not overwhelm and over protect them. Nope let them fight their own battles.. in school (you know when they get a bad grade because they didn't do their homework).. in spots (guess what when you play a game one side wins and one side looses.. suck it up).. yep teach them how to deal with issues. Fight their battles and learn that actions have consequences.

We complain about the government interfering in our lives then when life gets difficult we demand a law be made. Guess what folks, that is the government interfering, we are GIVING UP our rights, WILLINGLY..

Don't get me wrong, there will always be those who are ill and need attention. Both physical and mental. They may not be able to be helped.. there will be times when one person can bring a community to it's knees.. but if we, as parents, adults, community leaders step up there will be less. Take the time to show our children from birth the right path. Teach them the national anthem so they can sing along with it.. Not only the words but the meaning.. teach them what the flag represents so they understand WHY we should respect it. Teach them that life is hard, that there will be times when it will seem like the world is against them (it isn't I mean how important are they?). Teach them that hard work will deliver them if they take it one step at a time, not expect instant results. Teach them faith not fanaticism  Teach them that parents, teachers, firefighters and police are the REAL heroes.. not someone whose claim to fame is that they can throw/hit/kick a ball.

Give them hope.. teach them that everyone should have dreams, even the unrealistic ones.. but that they have to work to make them come true. It won't happen if you don't work for it. Teach them that the single most important thing they can do is to take responsibility for their own actions.

As for making a law.. yeah, that works *snort*. But we can demand that our elected officials started acting like we matter. To be the role models they should be. Stop stealing from us, stop living by George Orwell's concept that "Some animals are more equal than others". They aren't..

We will never have utopia, we can't we are merely human and will make tremendous mistakes BUT I firmly believe in the theory of nipping it in the bud.. teach our children early and often and many (sadly not all - referring back to the entire we are human concept) BUT there will be less issues because more people will understand.

The More Things Change...

When I was in High School.. way back when.. there was a policy.. It focused on the entire separation of church and state concept. You know the one that was NEVER mentioned in the constitution? Anyway, they refused to allow us to have a Bible Study on campus. While all other clubs and groups were allowed this one wasn't. We fought, we petitioned and eventually the battle was won. I was not amongst the winners of that battle because I had transferred to a Private Christian High School, obviously having a Bible Study on campus was no longer an issue. But this battle stuck with me..

The reasoning was that because it was a "religious" group it was violating the constitutional rights of those who didn't believe. Not sure how that could be as it was a voluntary group of students who just wanted to share like minded beliefs. No on was forcing anyone to attend and certainly the school was not mandating it. It was on these arguments that the group won.

Skip ahead a generation, my daughter had a Bible Study at her HS.. and yes since it was a school club, they needed a sponsor and even though the sponsor was a Christian she was not allowed to participate in any way. She was there to unlock the doors, turn on the lights and make sure no school rules were broken, that was it. I had no problem with this.. it would have been nice had she been allowed to participate but I understand the basic rules. The thing is all the kids knew she shared their beliefs and would stand for them. They understood that while she was limited in that room, she was on their side in so many ways. Can you imagine the discomfort and dismay, even discouragement these kids would have had, if the sponsor didn't believe as they did. Say, the sponsor was an agnostic, an atheist.. shoot even a person of another faith.. It would underline them in some very insidious ways.. they would know.. they would fear sharing things.. and yes many might stop coming..

Now Vanderbilt University has instated a policy that requires religious student groups to accept leaders regardless of their faith, even requiring Christian groups to allow atheist leadership. The school has outrageously compared these Christian groups to segregationists. There is a petition being sent to Vanderbilt that says..

"To: Vanderbilt University
You have compared Christian student groups to segregationists because they want the same rights as other Christian organizations in America — the same rights the Supreme Court unanimously affirmed this year — the right to use faith-based criteria when selecting leaders. We demand that you immediately reverse your new policy that discriminates against these students."

If you want to support the rights of these individuals, if you want to ensure that everyone's Constitutional rights are secure.. that yes even Christians are allowed their faith.. you can go HERE to sign the petition.

Queen Elizabeth II marks Accession Day

Today marks Queen Elizabeth II's 60th year in her reign.. WOW!!

Elizabeth is an inspiring woman, one who should be held up to us as girls and told.. look what she has done w/her life. Oh sure she inherited the throne but what she did w/it is pretty darn impressive.

As an American we are supposed to deny all things royal.. yeah who really does that? but it's hard not to respect a woman who has 400 plus engagements a year.. There aren't that many days in a year!! She has devoted herself to serving her country as best she can. With dignity and grace.. who doesn't think integrity when they hear her name?

Oh sure, in the Diana years we saw her flaws.. but seriously.. she was attempting to remain true to her duties, her country and yes her generation. She didn't have the luxury of running around demanding everyone feel sorry for her.. Sorry, all yes Diana had a rough life but lots of us do... we just don't get to whine about it in the international media AND we didn't get to be a Princess.. Back to the Queen.. yes she had some bad years.. but she weathered that. In the end how could her people NOT respect her?

Elizabeth has also been one of the lucky ones as she fell in love early.. and stayed in love.. She has a husband who, shoot gave up his name for her, while remaining a strong arm of support. I have read that they have shared a bed every day of their marriage.. I know tmi.. but it speaks to my romantic self..

Is she perfect? Heck no, she's human.. But there is absolutely no denying that she is a CLASS Act.. Congrats Your Royal Highness.. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!

Turn About is Fair Play

For years the liberal media has run amuck with their ability to brainwash the American public. Making sure to gleefully destroy as much as the conservative party as possible. Highlighting mistakes to extreme degree while burying the same when a liberal does it. They would at best mention it on page 6 then move on. But if a conservative did it they, with malice aforethought attacked and attacked and attacked.. until a simple error or mispeak became a death row crime.

Don't get me wrong I am not anti liberal, in fact I feel that we need a balance of liberal and conservative no one party should ever have so much control.. but because the media has forgotten it's place to REPORT the news and prefers to MAKE the news the balance is woefully to the left.

For the entire Bush term of office they insulted, insulted, insulted.. can you think of ONE good thing that was done during the Bush era? There was some excellent stuff to come out of it.. but we never saw it.. Or wait how about the Bush daughters.. when you hear them mentioned what do you think of? I know party going co-eds who dress inappropriately and spend all their spare times in bars.. did you know that both of them served in third world countries in some format or other? One was with the Peace Corps and one worked with another not for profit organization.. AND THEY DID IT WITHOUT PRESS.. they didn't do it for the press, because goodness knows they never got any, they did it because it was right..

NOW.. it seems President Obama has been disrespected.. and I actually agree.. but what did they expect after years and years of saying it's ok to disprespect the president? It's ok to denigrate and insult? It's ok to mock him, his wife, his family and his children? It's ok... well people are paying attention and they honestly believe that it's ok.. That we have the right to insult, demean and disrespect the man who leads us.. As my grandma used to say "garbage in, garbage out" if all you have been doing is feeding our brains with your garbage.. the garbage will eventually spew forth.

You want respect? Show respect.. if you think that THIS president should be respected then respect ALL of them!! After all we are taught respect.. we aren't born with it

As a resident of Illinois I can only look at this weeks news with a certain amount of glee.. Yes that's right GLEE!! I am so happy to see this sorry excuse for a governor receive appropriate punishment.

I do have to say though I did not feel betrayed by him, don't get me wrong I was totally disgusted by his actions but sadly not surprised. This man from the very moment he took office used it like his own personal servants system. He was elected governor then refused to move to Springfield because his daughter, then around 7 didn't want to leave her friends.. Well shoot, I bet there are thousands of military kids who feel the same way and yet they move over and over and over again. So he refused to move down to Springfield.. can you believe this he COMMUTED.. yeah that's right he flew back and forth on a sometimes daily basis (so he could have family time) all on the taxpayers dime.

You have to figure if he did this there was plenty of other crap going on that we were totally clueless about.. and yet he was re elected.. that scared me.. made me worry about what the average voter in Illinois was thinking. Part of me, was almost apathetic when Blago was arrested.. I mean he was a corrupt, self important little man and we elected him twice to lead the state.. why? Cuz he was young and good looking? Sad fact of life.. we like young and we like attractive, heaven forbid we look for intelligence and ethics and commitment and devotion to service.. NAH.. what good would that do us? oh, I know it might get us out of the mess we are in!

Michelle Obama bood at NASCAR

This bothers me on so many levels.. 

First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden were grand marshals at today’s NASCAR season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, appearing as part of their charitable campaign to support military veterans and their families. Both of these ladies have worked really hard on this program one that every American should be supporting.. This is not a political thing this is the right thing.. and we should be proud that the two most powerful women (ok Oprah isn't involved.. but the next two most important) in our country think it is important enough for us to be aware of it. It is so important that they went to a NASCAR event.. why? because a HUGE sector of our military comes from the NASCAR fan base.. Do you really think they woke up one day and said.. hey let's go to a car race?

And yet.. they went.. to honor those who serve by offering support to their families.. You don't have to like President Obama.. you don't have to like his wife.. but as Americans we should support and respect the office and what it represents and yes that includes his wife.. Even more than what they were there supporting.. they were there representing something precious.. Us.. if you don't like them.. VOTE.. ok, how many of you VOTE? yeah.. I thought so.. and yet people sit and boo the first lady for being what? married to the man who dared to try and make a difference?

This isn't about being a Republican or a Democrat it's about being an American.. It's about respecting something bigger than we are.. More people need to learn basic manners.. *sigh* yeah and vote darn it!!

Piggy Poop and the Environment

I was reading the news yesterday and I cam across the most interesting article. It seems some farmers in Europe have found a way to well recycle piggie poop, they eliminate the methane gas that damages the environment, run their farms and send energy back along the grid. It seems the piggies actually poop in a certain place which sends it down a chute (yes piggies can be semi domesticated and for lack of better term house trained) Come on admit it you are laughing..

The thing is everyone was wondering if this would eventually just be another way for rich countries to buy carbon credits and say they are more energy efficient. and of course this alone will help but not fix the problem.. and that makes me think, yes it will not fix the problem but it will help it and if everyone does one thing to help the situation think how much farther along we would be.

For my part I have to think.. Remember when Al Gore said we have less than a decade to reverse the problem? I know many think he is being hysterical and over dramatic and that he is wrong but my question is... What if he is right? For that reason alone everyone should do what they can..

Politics ....

I am very angry with the politicians and judges in California. Rarely am I truly ashamed of my state. I am usually proud to be from California and rather angry when I hear California bashing here in the Midwest but this time...

Ok proposition 8 stupid in and of itself.. Gays should be allowed the same legal and civil rights as non gays.. but it was voted by the majority to ban gay marriages... I disagree but that was the vote. Then the courts get involved and say yes we have to uphold the vote.. I don't like it but the way our system is built we have to agree with it.. But politicians being politicians (and yes our court system is now filled with politicians posing as judges) they say the marriages that were performed were legal and stand as marriages.

So if you were fortunate enough, excited enough or maybe just plain cynical enough to get married as soon as the law passed you are still married but if you waited, planned a wedding (as we all know it takes forever to get the wedding just perfect) you are pretty much out of luck.

This my friends is what I consider a loop hole.. either the law is legal or it isn't.. of course I am one of those who still believes that double jeopardy is illegal.. but that is a subject for another blog..

A Women for the Supremes...

Like I could resist the title.. I havent decided yet if I feel comfortable with the president's choice or not, as I haven't researched her career or judging history in the end what I think matters not but I feel as an American it is my responsibility to be informed. Don't get me wrong I am sure judge Sotomayer has major qualifications I am sure she is educated, articulate and decisive.. It just bothers me that she is gonna get fast tracked... We are supposed to have a system of checks and balances. The Senate and House are supposed to really look into her background and make sure she is the right choice! But because President Obama pretty much has control over both the House and the Senate it is just a scary time.

It bothers me when one party has so much power.. Machevelli I believe said it best. "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" Now is the time for us as citizens to stand up and DEMAND action be taken! Do not sit and complacently allow the government to make decisions (even when they may be the right ones) we need to say you work for us.. you are accountable to us and you better make sure you are thinking of us!!

With that said, I am going to do my research see if I can live with her judgements and move on...

A Chage of Mind

I have waited a few days to post this blog because I really wanted to formulate my thoughts.. Recently the change of parties by Congressman Specter has really bothered me.

Not for ideological reasons but rather plain old breach of contract. The good congressman was elected as a Republican to represent his home state.. That is what he promised them.. now to switch parties mid term that just bothers me. This smacks of desperation and a man who fervently wants to hang on to his power.

Had his convictions been involved he would have maybe addressed his party.. pointed out where he felt the lacked substance and fought to serve the people who elected him. BUT NO this man all but vacated his promises... in short lied to his constituents and has no desire to serve them.

I am eternally grateful that he is not my representative.. goodness knows we have enough issues here in Illinois..

I think we as a nation of voters need to wrench the reigns back from the hands of the elected officials and DEMAND that they do their jobs which is serving us...

I Can See the Future and It Isn't Pretty

So the ex lost his job in theory it is not the end of the world as the payments will be taken straight out of unemployment and sent to me. Wonderful thing theory.. As you all know I have been battling the child support system for over 12 years. This past year having been one of the worst. Unfortunately it was not the worst. The very worst year I received child support it was handled directly by the state of Illinois.. Now here is the sad part.. my money would be held for up to 8 weeks at a time. I lost not one but two apartments over this and it took years to rebuild my credit.

Why is that pertinent? Well because my checks will no longer go through the state disbursement unit which is bad enough.. oh no now because of the unemployment it will be going through the state once more.. this is the same facility that I struggled with, fought with and finally dealt with the governor's office to get out of. Now I am being told that they get me again.. I would hope since it is coming from one state facility to another it will be all electronically transferred and not too much stress..

What a pipe dream that... while they may transfer from dept to dept I am not sure but I have just discovered they do not do direct deposit. That means I have to wait upon a check. What a crock.. depending on the mail?? and who in this day and age doesn't offer direct deposit? and honestly the State of Illinois does not offer direct deposit? What century are they living in?

So in short, goodness knows when my money will show up. Then when it shows up when will it transferred to my account? Then of course when will they condescend to actually mail it and finally.. when will the mailman deliver it.. Sheesh I am NEVER going to see my money.. Thank Goodness that the state insisted on protecting me from a deadbeat dad.. who by the way has paid every single child support payment on time..

Makes one wonder exactly who the deadbeats are, doesn't it?

Condoleeza

With all the furor over Michelle Obama we tend to forget another gracious and lovely African-American who served her country. She did it with style and grace.. she was the first such woman in a position of true power and she was in the party that most African-Americans veer away from..

Yet she did her job, she helped pave the way.. she had class and elegance and a belief in what she was doing. In the mockery that was W's administration one did not hear bad things about Condi.. nope.. at most people made jokes on the name not at the woman.

But she also didn't get the accolades she deserved... I saw her the other night on Leno (ok it was a rerun) she was gracious in defeat. Supported the current president and didn't offer unsolicited advice. It made me like her even more.. no flash this just substance pure and simple..

Honestly one of the reasons the O'bamas have it so well is because of people like Condi.. gracious and dignified.. just thought I would state my piece..

Good Old Governor Rod

Well the indictment came through, all 19 of them. All the while Gov. Rod is spouting off his innocence. Oh I know we live in an society that says innocent until proven guilty and we should not leap to conclusions but 19 indictments. Oh I know the press is blathering on about how he tried to sell then Senator Obama's Senatorial seat and yes that was bad but it wasn't the only thing.

This man was a bad governor and an even worse man. He is a criminal who we elected not once but twice. We CHOSE to ignore what we knew and refused to research what we didn't we LET the press decide that his boyish good looks (now considered smarmy) was a good enough reason to elect him. We WANTED to believe that this man was not corrupt that he cared about the people of Illinois. He didn't he was and is slime. He chose from the very beginning to put his needs and the needs of his family before those of his constituents. Don't get me wrong putting your family first is a fabulous thing except when you become an elected official then you become theirs.. Your responsibility is to them no longer your family or yourself.

And that is gov. Rod's true crime.. He was a selfish, egotistical man who wants it all and who got caught. He stepped over the line not because he threatened the press, bankrupted a state no because he dared to defile the current media darling's memory. One has to wonder if we would have been so offended if he had not used President Obama? Would the press have declared him evil or would they have swept it under the rug? I mean he wasn't doing anything everyone else wasn't doing.. I mean God forbid he step up and have morals and ethics.

Somehow we as a society have accepted that it is ok for our elected officials to lack ethics.. instead of demanding that they have MORE... maybe it is time we took a stand. Against the media for telling us what to think, our elected officials for lacking conviction and ourselves for letting it happen

Taxing Marajauna

The elected officials in CA have finally brought up an interesting suggestion, why not tax pot? It is the largest crop in the state and more than doubles the amount made by the next largest product.

Oh I know all of the ethical arguments against taxing it, it is condoning the use of an altering substance, you know like alcohol or cigarettes... whatever. It sends a message to the youth that it is ok to smoke pot. Hello?? our youth are already doing it. Do you realize the product it more than doubles is the dairy industry? So right now they make more money illegally off of pot than they make legally off of milk.

We have allowed pot to be an almost accepted part of our lives, we all know someone who has smoked pot, shoot most of us have, our president has... The illegality of it is just a joke a way for those who earn a living off it to make a bundle and the rest of us pay for it. Why not make them pay their taxes, regulate it. I bet the best way to put it out of business is to let the government run it, forget taxing it. We would one day turn around and realize the industry was gone to well pot...

Now I know their are those who will argue the moral choice, that it is blood money or whatnot but as long as we allow cigarettes and alcohol both of which I feel are way more dangerous, they need to re think their "moral" beliefs.But I say to the elected officials of CA, go for it!! Set a trend, sure the middle of the country will piss and moan but they will
eventually follow the money is just too darned good.

The Problem With Change

I know I have often questioned the expectations we have placed on President Obama, lately though I have been watching and I really must wonder.. not are we expecting too much but rather... What if it works?

As someone who has spent the past 12 years a victim of the governments desire to help.. I have to worry. What if all of these programs do go through?

Let's see, we are telling those who work hard to make something of themselves to stop.. don't work too hard because we are going to take that money away and give it to those who don't work as hard... Oh this is not a yay for the rich, boo for the poor blog. This is me acknowledging that we have a generation of individuals who feel entitled... the phrase "some animals are more equal than others" starts dancing through my head

Next we are promising people the hope of better health care and a way to escape the clutches of the insurance companies... so the government is gonna step in, hello?? any of you deal with the IRS lately? and of course let's consider my ongoing drama with the Illinois Child Support System.. hmmm late checks, apathetic employees.. why? because they don't care their jobs are secure..

I know we are in a quagmire but I have to wonder if this is the way out?

A Generation of Errors

The other day my youngest and I were discussing the new president. She asked me if she thought he could fix things. A question indeed from someone who will have to endure the legacy of the mess we made of things.

My response to her was a bit more surprising than she thought, I am a conservative basically a Republican but I do vote for who I believe in rather than any specific party. What I have seen over the past almost 30 years of voting is not the Democrats being wrong, is not the Republicans of being wrong it was a generation of being wrong. Most of those leaders came from what we lovingly refer to as the baby boomers. A group that was parented by the "greatest" generation, they believed in saving for a rainy day, hard work and perseverance. The baby boomers believed in destroying the system and rebuilding it so they benefited now.

Yes, they did some good things, face it we wouldn't have a President Obama had they not stud up. And as a female athlete I certainly appreciate title IX shoot as a female at all I appreciate Roe vs. Wade whether I agree with abortion or not. BUT, they destroyed an awful lot. They made a group of women think they HAD to work, had to be supermom do it all, helping to destroy the American family. They instituted the greed is good theory, they destroyed the banking system and raised a group of children who believed they were entitled to it now. God forbid the hard work concept. Oh yeah and God forbid, well we aren't allowed to say God, unless we aren't Christian then your faith is acceptable (again, I believe in religious tolerance but that means tolerance for all). The generation who discovered global warming decried the very evilness of it then insisted on excessively large cars and "more". They found the problems and it seems exploited them instead of correcting them. Exposed them yes, so credit must be given but also they didn't fix them, one has to wonder if they even accepted the problems as real.

As my grandma used to say the pendulum swings, face it she was a teenager and young adult during the 20's she understood excess and wild living but she was also a young parent during the depression, she understood the need to work hard and barely survive day to day. That was the generation who birthed the "greatest generation". What have the baby boomers brought? 50 years of destruction. It is not a political thing it is a generational thing.

So when Obama was elected I was pleased, not because I thought He was better for the job or even agreed with him (I actually admire the job McCain has done as a Senator) but because it was time for the next generation to step up and take over. The generation between the baby boomers and the generation of entitlement. The one lost in the land of no label. Some would say we are one without direction but no, rather we are one who took our time coming into our own. One that needed to make our way free of the baby boomers. Can Obama fix things, probably not at least not entirely but slowly the pendulum is swinging and change is happening.

A Double Dose of Scary Politics

Two events have happened recently that strikes fear in my heart..

The first is the passing of the president's stimulus package. Oh not the package itself, or even that it passed but that it passed without a single republican vote and with 11 Democrats voting nay. This does not bode well for us.. this means that those in power will have the ability to pass willy nilly anything that they thing is appropriate. Oh and this does scare me.. no party should ever have such control of our government. They are not gods, they are not perfect (shoot in general they have proven themselves to be corrupt and self serving) so to give either party this unparalleled power is just wrong. Oh well, we are going to have to watch and see.. and wonder what comes next.. i can only hope reason occasionally steps in.

The second is the impeachment of Governor Blagojevich, I don't like him I never did. I questioned his ethics and his politics but he was voted in by the people of this state and until he is proven guilty then he should remain governor. He should not be ousted because others in his party are jockeying for power of their own.. nor to be the subject of someone elses agenda.. and this impeachment reeks of posing, self rightousness.

We need to be aware of our choices all, watch our politicians be diligent because we are on a rollercoaster ride to be sure..

And the Saga Continues

Today, I received a third child support payment, so in theory they are current and up to date. I also received an email in response to the one which I sent them. In short it declared all of the Federal Laws that governed the way it was run.

"Federal law defines a business day as a day on which State offices are open for regular business. The Federal Reserve, who processes the electronic disbursement, is not open on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays to process the files. There are timing issues involved in electronic fund transfers/direct deposits. The settlement date is always the next business day. A fairly common misconception is that "electronic" does not necessarily mean "instantaneous" is the world of electronic funds transfers (EFT); whether the funds are going to or from a bank. A further bit of clarification: the Federal law requirement is two day compliance not 48 hours. The Federal Reserve, who processes these electronic files, is not open on Saturdays/Holidays to process files. Once the electronic disbursement file is sent to the State Disbursement Unit's bank and confirmed received, the funds are flowing through the Federal Reserve ACH electronic system and are incapable of being "held" by the SDU. The money is getting to your account as quickly as the banking system allows."

hmmm, interesting, I guess I am too stupid to allow for business days and the concept of what is and isn't considered instant deposits, of course I am a 46 year old woman who has functioned in society on her own for a lifetime. But I need an email to explain what a business day is.. what they of course failed to explain is why it is that AFTER I complained to them they suddenly found my checks.. After I pitched a major fit, the checks mysteriously appeared in my account.. hmm, one has to wonder if maybe they are skirting Federal Law.. I mean if the checks were really and truly lost in the mail, then how is it the all arrived immediately after my rant? The coincidence is astounding..

Oh, I know I will never be able to prove that I am right and God forbid they admit that they screwed up.. but we all know the truth.. oh yeah, and they still haven't responded to my offer to come work for them.. teaching them basic customer service skills.

The thing that bothers me the absolute most is, yes I received my money. Yes, I won that battle but what about those women who don't have my fortitude? My anger? My ability to fight the system? To question what is said and what is true? They are left alone without a voice. They are pushed aside, waiting for the money that is theirs by law and by right. Their voices are not heard.. WRONG!! If they so choose they may consider me their voice in the battle.. I am not going to let this go away. I am tired of wondering week after week after week if this week is going to be the one where my checks are late. I am angry that I had to fight a battle that should never have had to be fought, and I have had to fight it for 12 years.. Oh no, Illinois Child Support System, I will not go quietly into the night.. Oh no, you have created an enemy, a voice for the single mom.. and here in this forum I FINALLY have a voice.

It Takes a Politician

So tomorroe the impeachment begins.. I have to wonder though why? This may amaze and astound many but I am not a governor Blagojevich, actually I don't like him at all. I didn't vote for him the first time and I certainly didn't vote for him a second time when I found his actions questionable and his motives dubious. BUT the majority of the people of Illinois did. That has to stand for something..

The Illinois Senate and House have decided that because of charges being leveled against the governor he should be impeached. Now doesn't that stink of guilty until proven innocent? They have allegations against him and are going to use those to get rid of him. They aren't doing it to help the citizens of Illinois, no they are doing it to save their own jobs. The Republicans get to say see we told you so and the Demcrats are running as far away from him as possible so they can say they were lily white.

The problem is, they are acting too soon. The good governor has been charged with corruption but we don't know if it is true. He has been accused of crimes but who is to say that they are valid? Oh sure we think we know but do we? Don't get me wrong I want him out, I wanted him out the minute he walked in the door. I wanted him out when he refused to live in Springfield because his elemetary school daughter didn't want her life to be disrupted (thank goodness Presiden Obama felt differently) so he commuted from Chicago to Springfield on a daily basis.. That was the first time, I have wanted him out many times since.

I just don't want him out to advance another equally corrupt politicians career, I don't want him out at the expense of the Illinois taxpayer and I don't want him out just because I don't like him. I want him out because he has been voted out or convicted...

Call me silly but it is the way I am.
